Dekalb County’s August 2023 food distribution
Dekalb County has released the details for its August food distribution event.
On Saturday, August 5th, 2023, Dekalb County will distribute 5,000 boxes of food — including fruits and vegetables, a dozen eggs, and chicken parts.
This back-to-school distribution event will also include a giveaway of 5,000 clear (see through) bookbags filled with school supplies.
The supplies include:
12 pencils
12 pens
pack of 24 crayons
2 notebooks
paper
2 erasers
a flash drive
a calculator
At this event, residents can also receive cookies, fruit juice boxes, and cereal to use in school lunches.
There are eight separate food distribution events, held in church parking lots around the whole county. The events are open to Dekalb County residents.
All events begin at 9 a.m., rain or shine, and will continue on a first-come, first-served basis until supplies are gone.
They are designed to be drive-thru events.

Locations for Covid test giveaways on Monday, Jan. 17, 2022
The Covid self-tests will be distributed beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, January 17, 2022.
Any Dekalb County resident is eligible for the giveaway.
You may stay in your car to receive a test kit, and walk-ups are welcome.
